Event Info

Hello everyone!  I would like to invite you to join us for the 11th annual March for Fallen Heroes event on 27 May 2017 to honor our beloved Americans who have lost lives due to the global war on terror.  This is a no-frills event.  It will just be us, our Nation’s Colors, and the path ahead.  Also, ANYONE can participate and it is absolutely free.  So please spread the word about this event throughout your community.  The additional information is below and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions!

The Staging Area for this event will be at the Rock Island located within Zilker Park.  The Rally point will be at the lower level of the Island.  Please reference the Path & Parking links below for more information.

The length of the route is approximately 5.76 Miles.

Once everyone has been briefed, about the event, our journey the Capital begins.  Upon our arrival to the Capital, there will be a twenty minute rest period at the 36th ID Memorial.  After the break, we will then head back to the Starting point to finish the event. 

For those unable to march, but would like to support this event, you can meet up with the main body at the State Capital.  There will be a twenty minute rest period at the 36th ID Memorial located NW of the Capital.

The Soldiers will wear their ACU’s with Patrol Cap.  All other Branches will wear their own type of “BDU” for this event along with their Cover.

Rucksacks are authorized for this event, but not mandatory.  If you do decide to carry a rucksack for this event, be sure that you are PHYSICALLY CAPABLE of carrying that weight!

All other civilian personnel will wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes.

Summary of Events on day of March:

7:30am - Intro & Safety Briefing

8:00am – Begin the journey to the Capital

10:00am  – Arrival of Main Body at the Capital and 20 minute rest

11:30am – Return to the Starting Point

12:00pm – Farewell
